“Biksu pesilat Shi Gao Can
Appereantly there is a school over there with the name “Sau Se San”
This picture hangs in the Medan temple 真元寺 Zhen Yuan Si.
North Sumatra Social and Sports Association
Himpunan Sosial dan Olahraga Sumatera Utara HISOSU BINJAI
The North Sumatra Social and Sports Association or known as HISOSU is centered in a small town known as the rambutan city, namely Binjai, North Sumatra, Indonesia, which is about 25km from the city of Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
Shaolin Monks Come to Binjai
In the early 20th century, monk Gao Chan from the Shaolin temple came to Binjai City and served at the Setia Buddha Binjai Monastery. In his spare time, he taught Kungfu to the local community which later became the forerunner to the formation of HISOSU Binjai. Therefore, the Setia Buddha Binjai Monastery and HISOSU Binjai are closely related because of Monk Gao Chan. Until finally he left Binjai City and moved to monasteries in several countries including the Suang Lin Shi Monastry in Singapore.

A brief history of the Northern Jiangsu Minli Shaoshishan Sports Charity Club (Guoshu Club)
Guotai Minan is prosperous and prosperous, Ye Zhirong is in good health
The Northern Jiangsu Minli Chinese Martial Arts Research Society was founded in 1943 at the Minli Zhenyuan Palace (now renamed Zhenyuan Temple) for Master Shi Gaoshen, the descendant of the Forty-Nine Legends of Shaolin in China. It is now called the Northern Jiangsu Minli Shaoshishan Sports Institute. Charity Club (referred to as Guoshu Club).
Master Gao Shen is a martial arts master and is good at acupuncture and medicine. He is a disciple of Master Huijing, the Erfang martial arts passed down by the Sixth Patriarch. He had previously studied under the famous martial arts master Cao Biao and learned the Five Ancestors Boxing, which Cao Biao was proud of. Master Huijing did not allow him to accept successors. Master Gao Shen felt deeply that his martial arts could not be passed down to future generations. His master Huijing had passed away, so he wrote a letter to his uncle (name unknown) to allow him to pass on his skills to future generations. The uncle agreed. Later, he began to accept disciples in the martial arts training hall in the basement of Minli Zhenyuan Palace in northern Jiangsu. There were only five disciples at the beginning. The first disciple was monk Fachan, who later became the abbot of Zhenyuan Palace. The remaining four disciples were Huang Jinzhang, Zhuang Qingjin (nicknamed Laohou), and Zhuang Jinlai (nicknamed Bada), Lin Jinju (both deceased). During the period when Master Gao Shen was presiding over Zhenyuan Palace, he promoted Shaolin martial arts and trained many rookies and junior students through fifty disciples. His purpose was to promote physical fitness and make great contributions to the promotion of Chinese Shaolin martial arts. He also taught lion dance and dragon dance skills, which won strong support and praise from the people and the Chinese community in other places. The Chinese Martial Arts Club went through many hardships and overcame obstacles, and continued to grow amidst many difficulties. At that time, it was composed of Zhuang Jinlai (martial arts coach), Lin Tengshun, Lin Jinhao, Wu Jingfu, Zhou An (owner of Shengsheng Shoe Store), He Rongguang (owner of Xiangxing Gold Store) ), Wu Zaiwang, Gao Qingwen, Jiang Qilong, Chen Yuanming, Huang Defa, Yan Jinde, Wu Jinyin (the largest sponsor), (I apologize for any omissions, and pray for the blessings of my children and grandchildren). Fortunately, we all help and love each other, and work tirelessly to achieve today’s achievements. Human contribution is indispensable.
Master Gao Shen left Minli in 1948 and went to Singapore to preside over Shuanglin Temple. In 1954, he founded the Shaohua Mountain Chinese Martial Arts Fitness Club. During the 1950s, every Lunar New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the Dragon and Lion Dance Team of the Chinese Martial Arts Society went to Medan, Tinggi, Xianda, Asahan, Kuala Simpang and other places to perform lion and dragon dances and Chinese martial arts, which was deeply loved by the local society. People praised it. From the eighth day of the lunar month to the fifteenth day of the Lantern Festival, people go door-to-door at Minli to pay New Year greetings to people in the community and wish them all success and peace in the New Year. The dragon and lion dance, climbing high to pick green leaves, breaking coconuts and peeling grapefruits are all amazing. The martial arts are exquisite, including knives, spears, swords, sticks, monkey fists, drunken fist and other eighteen kinds of martial arts. The thrilling places are so thrilling that your heart beats with fear. There was constant applause after the performance, and everyone in the audience clapped their hands.
In 1955, he bought a clubhouse on Minli Street (now known as General Sudirman Street). It was renovated and completed on November 7, 1956. The concerted efforts were made by the benevolent people in society. Later, he bought a house next door and expanded the two rooms into one (now the Chinese Martial Arts Society). After the clubhouse was expanded, the auditorium could be used for wedding banquets, parties or other purposes, and provided convenience and services.
Now the new directors of the Guoshu Society from 2014 to 2017 are as follows:

Document: NONI
The nursing home was built in 1994 with a total of 53 rooms. It began to accept the elderly in 1995. The first phase of land (approximately 3,000 square meters) was donated by Mr. Lin Yongshan, a social activist, and subsequent land expansions were purchased by the Chinese Martial Arts Club. It also has a Ksitigarbha Hall and a clinic to provide free treatment, and most of the funds are donated by benevolent people. On December 12, 2012, the Baiyun Temple built in the courtyard was completed and opened. It will be used as a place for the elderly or members of the public to place their coffins. It is even planned to build an orphanage in 2016 to house Chinese orphans and provide them with education so that they can contribute to society and the country when they grow up.
We would like to list here the donations made by people from the society to the Guoshu Club, and express our utmost gratitude to them.
(1) Mr. Chen Tingshu of Medan donated two rooms for the Guoshu Society’s funeral parlor.
(2) Mr. Fu Yinsheng’s royal family donated a piece of land to build a columbarium in the Bayeranwu Cemetery in Xilixi Town for the resting place of the ashes of more than 500 unrelated elderly people at that time.
(3) Chen Guocheng, the current chairman of the Guoshu Club, donated a new L-300 Mitsubishi brand RV and another new SUZUKI brand RV for the use of funeral homes and nursing homes.
(4) There are many benevolent people who have given love and donated countless financial and material resources, such as rice, sugar, oil, and food, to care for the elderly. With this heart and virtue, all colleagues in the Chinese Martial Arts Club are grateful to Bo Yuntian, the orphans, the elderly and the weak. As they spend their old age in peace and harmony, may the Emperor, Heaven, and Queen Earth bless everyone with long life and good health.
The new generation of leaders of the Minli Shaoshishan Sports Charity Society (Guoshu Club) should live up to the legacy of their ancestors and are determined to dedicate all their energy to the private sector, strictly observe discipline, do their part for the public, and shine their light. I hope that benevolent people The philanthropic people are enthusiastic about public welfare, care for the orphans, the elderly and the weak, and support and love us even more. I wish the good name of the Chinese Martial Arts Club will stay in people’s hearts forever, and the Chinese Martial Arts Club will be more prosperous and last forever.
