Lim Sai Choon 林細春

Southern Shaolin Fist Master Lim Sai Choon

Master Lim Sai Choon (Lin Xi Chun) is a native of Kui Bi Village, Hou Long Township, Xiao Cuo District, Hui An County, Fujian Province. He loved martial arts since he was a child. He studied Tai Zu Fist from his clan uncle. From Chang Nan Du he came to Singapore and he stay at Shuang Lin Temple in Lian Mountain where he studied with Abbot Sheh Koh Sam where he learned Southern Shaolin Martial Art. He was patience and perseverance, after five years of learning and deep understanding of the art. After he left the mountain, his peers have organized the Sao Hua San Athletic Association where he was nominated as instructor. Then help organized to establish Siau Hiong San Pugilistic Association. In 1962 he help established the Singapore Hui Hwa Pugilistic Association, master Lim Sai Choon served as martial arts instructor for 13 years, he also served as martial arts instructor of Singapore Shaw Chyun Athletic Association and Nanyang Siao Lin National Arts Association as the assistant head of the martial art committee. In 1967 he represent Singapore Hui Hwa Pugilistic Association in the First National Guoshu Martial Art Exhibition Competition, where he won first place in the long weapon event.

In 1986,he returned to his hometown to recuperate. But unfortunately, he eventually died of illness at the same year.


少林拳名師林細春 師祖

林細春大師原籍福建惠安縣簫厝區后龍鄉奎璧村人氏,為人好義慷慨廣交,自幼嗜老武術,在唐曾跟隨其族叔學習太祖拳,及長南渡來星,翌年投入蓮山雙林寺,拜釋高參方丈為師改學南派少林拳術,既稟賦異人复耐心毅力,五年藝滿,深窺堂奧,身手非凡,出師下山暨同門輩發起組織少華山國術健身社,擔任教練以發揚武術提倡健身運動,繼再擴展發起組織少雄山國術健身社,一九六二年為敦睦鄉誼,奮臂一呼成立惠華國術研究社,林細春師公擔任國術教練十三年,於茲並兼任少群體育會國術教練,曾任南洋少林國術總會教練組總副主任之職,林細春師公一九六七年代表惠華國術研究社參加第一屆全國國術表演賽,榮獲個人長兵器冠軍。 一九八六年, 他返回故鄉療養。 不幸于同年因病與世長辭。
